The easiest way to see the top tourist attractions in the Australian Outback is to drive thorough the Stuart Highway, the 3000 km road that dissects Australia from Adelaide in the south to Darwin in the north. Halfway between Adelaide and Darwin, there is Alice Springs: the Outback capital.

Because of the great distances, there is no way to explore the Outback in a few days. However, those who don’t have much time should start their trip in Alice Springs, as there are many well-known tourist attractions near this city. If you want to see more than the famous Uluru, you should make time to visit the whole national park where Uluru can be found, Alice Springs Desert Park.

Undoubtedly the greatest tourist attraction on the Australian continent is Uluru (Ayers Rock), and Alice Springs sees so many tourists because Uluru is relatively close to it. However, many tourists fail to make a correct estimate about the distances in the Australian Outback: ‘close’ means Uluru is 450 km away from Alice Springs.

Those who make the trip from Alice Springs to Uluru should visit the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. Kata Tjuta is really close to Uluru: one must drive only 50 km. The third important tourist attraction is Wattarka – Kings Canyon. This is a national park little bit further away, at 300 km from Uluru.

Besides the top three tourist attractions, there are a lot more to see. One place to visit is the West MacDonnell Ranges, and the East MacDonnell Ranges. Palm Valley, Hermannsburg, Chambers Pillar are also beautiful places in the Alice Springs area.

Those who choose to drive all the way from Alice Spring to Darwin must prepare for a really long journey. Those who find inspiring the endless horizon, great open space and ever changing landscape will enjoy the trip. However, a lot of people are unhappy about the journey, saying that the drive is too monotonous, with few tourist attractions on the way.

One beautiful place on the way to Darwin is Devils Marbles, 393 km north of Alice Springs. 600 km from Devils Marbles there is Mataranka, and from here it is only 105 km to Katherine George, one of the greatest places in Australia. Darwin itself is a tourist attraction, and there are several national parks in the north of Australia: Kakadu National Park and Litchfield National Park are the favorite.

Those who choose to drive south from Alice Springs to Adelaide, will reach an opal mining town called Coober Pedy. This town is very different from other Australian tourist attractions: some people love it, others hate it.

For those who are looking for real adventure, there is the Outback of the Australian Outback, the Kimberley region in the remote north-west territory. This is the place where most of time 4WD jeeps are the only means of transportation. Among the must see thing there is the Great Northern Highway from Broome to Kununura, the Gibb River Road, and countless waterfalls, rock pools, secret fishing spots, national parks and one of the world’s top 5 beaches.

On the West Bank of the River Nile, the Valley of the Kings at Luxor is home to many historical sites. The Valley of the Kings is home to over 60 tombs and over 120 chambers. This is where the pharaohs were buried and was believed by them to be the place they hoped to meet their gods in the afterlife. You will also find the area that the tomb of Tutankhamen was discovered. Unfortunately, most of the tombs are not open to the public. SInce the 18th Century, this places has been a popular archaeological exploration spot. It is truly unique. As one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites, it became a World Heritage Site in 1979.

Luxor Temple

The Temple at Luxor is right in the centre of Luxor, so if you do head to Luxor you shouldn’t miss it. The annual festival of Opet was celebrated at the temple, which was built in around 1400BC. Well over 3000 years old, this place will leave you awestruck. The complex is lit up spectacularly, so an evening visit is well worth it. A definite must see is the temple.

The Temple of Karnak

This vast complex of ruined temples, pylons and chapels is located near Luxor. It is considered one of the most important places of worship in Ancient Egypt. Hieroglyphics decorage everything around. The result is spectacular. You can also find historical performances and sound and light shows here explaining much more about the history of Karnak’s Temples.

The Egyptian Museum

Located in Cairo, the Egyptian Museum is home to over 120,000 items of treasured found around Egypt. As the museum is one of Egypt’s most popular attractions, it is advised to arrive there early. Many treasures were discovered within the tombs here, as well as over 20 genuine mummies in the Royal Mummy Room. The star attraction here, however, is undoubtedly the tomb of Tutankhamen and the treasures buried with it. A good crowd usually gathers around the solid gold mask that rested on the king’s head. This mask weighs 24.five pounds of solid gold, and the face is believed to bear an uncanny resemblance to the King’s face.

The Great Sphynx of Giza

The Great Sphynx is the largest statue created from one piece of stone. Built by the Ancient Egyptians in around 3000BC, it has a lion’s body and the head of a human. The Sphynx was buried up to its neck in sand until the 1920s when it was fully uncovered.

The Pyramids of Giza

If you are at the Sphynx then there is not a chance that you will be missing the Pyramids. Giza is home to three main pyramids, the most famous of which is the Great Pyramid. The pyramids were originally made from smooth, polished limestone, but years of weather erosion have left us with step like structures from bottom to top. The only remaining limestone is at the top of the smallest pyramid, but even this has lost its polished texture due to years of erosion. Of the sevent wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramid is the only one still in existence.

A trip to Egypt is one you’ll never forget. If you are taking advantage of the cheap Sharm holidays that you find, then you cannot afford to miss any of these amazing attractions that this awe inspiring country has to offer.

Before booking a Kenya Safari vacation, maybe even a honeymoon in Kenya, you have to do your homework.

It is possible you may never have heard of Campi Ya Kanzi which is in the Chyulu Hills state Park, but this would be the perfect place for a luxury African safari.

Campi Ya Kanzi means ‘Camp of The concealed Treasure’, but effectively for you the hidden treasure is the sheer quality of this luxury tented safari camp in Southern Kenya, which is sort of in the shadow of Mt.  Kilimanjaro which is only 35 miles away, and it lies within a 400 square mile non-public ranch.

There are superb features concerning Campi Ya Kanzi making it an excellent base for a luxury African safari and some of them are.

The maximum number of guests is restricted to 14 in six thatched roof tented cottages, and the two suites called Hemingway and Simba.  Each tented cottage is formed of stones fabric and wood.

The tented cottages all have different perspectives and are extremely private, only one reason that Campi Ya Kanzi is a complete must visit on a honeymoon in Kenya.

The apartments all feature a king size bed, a dressing room, and the bathrooms have double wash hand basins.

The cottages have either twin or king size beds, and have like the apartments a fullsize bath, shower, bidet, flush toilet and cold and warm running water.  Electricity is supplied by a solar system to each cottage.

style is added to by the proven fact that the plumbing fixtures are brass, and fresh flowers are replaced each day.

Each cottage as Camp Ya Kanzi has a wide veranda with superb views of Mt.  Kilimanjaro and the Tsavo Hills.

Each guesthouse has a designated Maasai attendant, and at night the camp is patrolled by guards so you can feel safe and totally secure at Campi Ya Kanzi.

The meals are all served at Tembo House which is the clubhouse at the epicentre of the camp.  Like the cottages it is created of local materials and thatch.  It is open to the outside and the views of Kilimanjaro from the patio are to put it softly spectacular.  It also has a huge lounge for relaxing reading and having a quiet drink.

Tembo House is more like being a guest in a friend’s home than an hotel.  Even dining is at a large wooden family dining table, set with expensive china, silverware and crystal to further this impression, and food which has an Italian theme, and is naturally home cooked by specifically trained cooks is amazing, but stands alongside local and international dishes, and veggies from the plant garden, local fresh milk and eggs from the chickens.

Campi Ya Kanzi has 2 goals, the first of which is to help the Maasai preserve their wildlife heritage.  The second is to give you the most memorable vacation of your life.

Your safari day will commence with tea or coffee brought to your cottage by your Maasai attendant, and then after enjoying the view from the verandah you may have a morning game drive, or if you would like a walk.  Breakfast follows with fresh local fruit, then doubtless an escorted safari on foot.  Campi Ya Kanzi is famous and correctly so for its foot safaris.  The Maasai game trackers will go out first, then you’ll follow in your own auto, getting close enough to whatever game you have indicated you need to see.  It is then on foot, with your armed pro guide and the trackers.  In this manner you will get close and personal, whilst remaining safe at all times.

All of this is as far as you can get from the mass car pursuit of animals in the Masai Mara, and indeed you’ll never need it another way in the future.

all of the activity in the bush is what you want and not part of a rigid program.  You will almost surely see all the big 5, but on foot, and what could be more exciting than that.

if you’d like to take a luxury African safari, or have your honeymoon in Kenya, then Campi Ya Kanzi might be the best solution and the fact each buck you spend helps the Maasai preserve their wildlife heritage.

Journey around the world by visiting famouswonders.com and while you’re at it, also check out Mount Kenya National Park.

In a country famous for innovative technology, are we really justified in being shocked that they have the most complicated public toilets as well? Concentrating on comfort, cleanliness and even attempting to ease embarrassment, Japanese toilets are far beyond what most expect, though for anybody living there, these should be fast turning into the norm.

Of course we can’t go into the health befits of the squat toilets from yesteryears that are still common here, but are actually not as inventive as you’d hope from the Japanese. Those you’d find in other Asian states as well, often in villages though.

When it comes to a touch of invention, it starts here by dumping humiliation. Talk about the discomfort of knowing someone is in a stall next to you and can essentially hear you making some funny sounds; funny to them but embarrassing for you. Eastern tech folks have cured this by creating a device frequently known as a ‘Sound Princess’. Found in just about all the newer public restrooms, the newer public restrooms, the device, when turned on, literally sounds like a flushing toilet, drowning out any other sound that might be made when using the facilities. This ensures that even the shyest of folk can relax, knowing no-one can hear them.

What Japan actually has to offer in modern toilets industry, if you need to call it that, are the washlets possessing a variety of features to please everyone (yes, we are still chatting toilets ). The control panel for the Washlet might remind you of something you might see in a rocket ship ; these toilets may look ordinary, but are anything but normal.

A common feature on each is a bidet, which can be combined with toilet paper, or used on its own to clean everything and everything. Most have two nozzles, with adjustable water pressure to each area, gently cleansing without being uncomfortable. Many Washlets have built in dryers, making toilet paper pointless. Comfort does not stop here though, with heaters attached, cold seats are a thing of the past. Some models even have automated lid opening, closing and flushing, catering to males and females with the push of a button.

Making those certain visits to the loo is never welcomed by anyone, but Japanese have made the whole thing an experience worth trying. The sole main problem that most travellers face in these toilets is the language barrier. The control panels have Eastern instructions and once seated getting up can become tough. There’s no question though that these toilets are catching up in the rest of the world as well, even the high tech man in black, Will Smith, when building his house got the Japanese to provide his toilets.

Thinking about traveling outside of the country? Famouswonders.com can help you decide where to go on your next vacation, or you can view Hakone Lake District Japan.

If you or someone close to you is disabled, you may have been put off the idea of traveling because of the increased difficulties. If you have ever wondered if travel aids for disabled people exist, the answer is a qualified yes.

Airlines, for example, will normally offer services to help disabled passengers. But the passenger needs to confirm exactly what is available. In addition, the airline needs to be contacted ahead of time and made aware of what is needed. You must be clear about the exact nature of the disability.

Among the services airlines often offer are a wheelchair loan, extra help getting on and off the plane, a separate room for security checks, and more. Wheelchairs and other disability aids do not usually count towards the passenger baggage allotment.

While many accessible hotels have ramps and elevators for easy access, this needs to be checked before making your reservation. If they offer airport pickup, you should confirm that you can easily board the transport. If not, ask them to provide appropriate transportation for you.

Some countries, like the United States, require access for the disabled. But not every destination will have that type of law. Therefore, it is very important to get confirmation of all services at each destination.

When it comes to the mobility aids, it is probably a good idea to bring your own rather than rely on rentals. That way you know what you are getting and that it is something you can use. There are a variety of travel wheelchairs available, for example, that are much easier to stow than the normal variety.

Fortunately, there is more awareness in the travel industry of the needs of disabled travelers. Facilities, especially at tourist spots, are making themselves more accessible. You can also find travel agencies that devote themselves to disabled clients. These people already know where the best service is going to be for your needs, so you may want to start there.

There are many websites are devoted to giving the disabled traveler advice. Especially interesting are the blogs from disabled travelers themselves. These offer many personal tips to making your travel as best an experience as you can.

For anyone who has put off traveling because of a disability, there is no time like the present to take your vacation. With a little research, good organization and patience you can find the travel aids for disabled people that you need. The trip of a lifetime awaits you.
