Flights across international borders are no longer limited to the major airlines only. The industry has grown and this growth has introduced new and smaller airlines on the major routes.

This competition has been good for those that use air travel for a number of reasons. It has forced many airlines to lower their prices in a bid to attract customers. Any airline that is charging extremely high prices is likely to be avoided or boycotted altogether. This has also forced the airlines to improve on the service to passengers during flights. Nowadays most airlines are competing in terms of the service that they give rather than the price of the air fares.

There is no country in the world that is not accessible by air, as each country in the world now has at least one major international airport for the arrival and departure of international flights. And on each route you will always find a major airline and another competing one.

Booking tickets for international flights is not a problem either. Bookings can be made either by phone or personally through the airline ticket office or alternatively it can be done online or through a travel agency,. It is also possible to access a list of domestic flights to different places within a country.

Enquiries can always be made wherever you choose to place your booking. You could make use of a flight finder tool which is a service available on some sites. What happens with these sites is they have fields that you are required to enter, there will be a field for departure airport, destination, times and dates. After filling in the required information when you hit the search button, all the available flights matching the information that you put in will be displayed.

From here you can get to compare prices, times and routes and stop overs of different flights. So you see that international travel is not that difficult after all and you will find all this information at any one of these:

There are only 3 main flights from Miami to Cape Town South Africa. These are The South African Airways, Delta Airlines and British Airways. None of them offer a direct flight as they all have to stop at least twice before reaching their destination.

Some of the cities these flights fly via include Washington, Johannesburg, New York, Baltimore and Johannesburg. With each stop you have to switch flights but this is normal for long flights.

South African Airways

Destined for South Africa it leaves Miami at 13.25hrs and makes its first stop in Washington Dulles arriving at around 16.05hrs. After about 90 minutes it takes off this time heading for Johannesburg where it arrives at 15:50 the following day.

It then departs for its final destination Cape Town at about 17.40hrs and arriving at approximately 1950hrs, the whole journey is about 20 hrs long

Delta Airlines

Delta Airlines lives Miami at 06:00 and flies to Baltimore. Having arrived at 10.34hrs it will leave at 11.00hrs going New York. Its scheduled to arrive at 12.10hrs and leave New York at 16.00hrs for Cape town.

Compared to the South African Airways flight this one is longer being 23hrs in total.

British Airways

British Airways will leave Miami heading for London at 20.50hrs and will arrive the next day at 10.05hrs. There is quite a long stretch of waiting here as the new flight that you are switched to only takes off at 17:50 and flies to Johannesburg

You can expect to arrive at 06.35 hrs the following day. You are then switched to another flight i.e. the SA317, which lives Johannesburg at 09:00 and gets to Cape Town at 11:10. The total flight time is about 21 hours – better than using Delta Airlines.

If you are going to be comparing prices then South African Airways comes out as the cheapest. You will be able to access current airfares and ways you can book your travel tickets from one of the these:

Hints to Finding Discount Airfares within Europe

When planning to have a trip to Europe, it’s important to consider the travels between countries and you can make it affordable if looking on discount airfare websites. Even with the higher costs airlines are paying for fuel, for those wanting to travel Europe discount airfare is available to a variety of countries.

Look through a travel agent

Bigger airlines have the bigger demand. They easily fill up their flights and so, do not need to provide cheap tickets. So, you need to find a way to look among the smaller airlines which have problems to fill the planes. An agency will certainly help look around certain companies that just do that: operate european flights. Maybe that’s the source for the worthest deals.

Maybe you should get more flexible

If you can postpone your travel a little bit, maybe you can get better fares. Try to play around your days of flights. Sometimes, from one day to another, there’s a lot of difference and you could then get a great Europe discount airfare Also, maybe a not direct flight can help you get a great difference. Not all the companies flying to Europe have the same fares and the same level of services.

You would have to fly from smaller airports that may not always be close to or at your final destination and how much you end up saving is directly affected by your travel dates. Sometimes you can save a lot and at other times the savings may not be much. The trade-offs that you will have to take into account are things such as your flight into London may arrive at an airport other than from where your cheap airfare flight to Europe departs. This means you have to then pay to transfer to the departing airport which will consume time (a minimum of three hours) as well as around $40 more for transfer costs.

If you have the time and organization, you can sort through the many offerings on the internet and put together you own travel agenda, choosing from the best deals offered by various airlines. You most likely will have to change planes often as well as make sure you do not leave your luggage behind as many times when you travel Europe discount airfares do not include the option of having the airlines move your bags for you.
