There are few places in South Africa that have a variety of naturally occurring tourist attractions like the Western Cape in South Africa. This is one of those destinations that you can arrive at without a tour plan because of the number of options open to you. There is the popular Garden Route which passes along Indian Ocean coastline going through the Tsitsikamma and Outeniqua Mountains towards the mainland. It has a diverse bird’s species, sunny beaches and attractive blue lagoons.

The West Coast

On the shores of the West Coast is where you will be treated to the best of South African hospitality. All the restaurants have a wide variety of seafood and fish that will be served with the finest of South African wine. Here you will have a beautiful view of the ocean and the range of mountains.

The Garden Route

This is also another part of the town that offers a lot in terms of sight seeing. The elegantly designed and modern beach front houses and the orthodox colonial style houses of this place will keep you in this part of town longer than you would expect. The atmosphere is just good for those who want that fresh country side feeling in a modern environment.

The number of place that you can visit in the Western Cape are just so many; once you get there you will know what I mean. Flights from UK to Cape Town South Africa are widely available. You can place a reservation from any of the following airports. London (LON), London Heatthrow, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham. All flights departing from these airports can take you to Cape Town International Airport. Most of these flights will however have at least one stop over before reaching the Cape.

Examples of flights to book are The KLM, which flies via Amsterdam, The South African airways, which has one stop in Johannesburg; Virgin Atlantic which has a single stop over in in Johannesburg. Another option that you have is Air France, however it makes two stops i.e. flies to Cape Town via Paris De Gaulle and Johannesburg. If you want a direct flight then you will have to book with Birtish Airways.

Between these air flights, KLM is the cheapest and Air France is one of the most expensive. I cannot give you the exact fares as they vary during different times of the year. You would have to consider checking the prices from a comparison website.

Looking at the departure times, KLM lives London at 06:30 and arrives at Amsterdam at 09:05. It lives immediately for Cape Town and arrives in South Africa at 22:30 on the same day. The time for the whole journey is about 13 hours and 05 minutes.

There are only 3 main flights from Miami to Cape Town South Africa. These are The South African Airways, Delta Airlines and British Airways. None of them offer a direct flight as they all have to stop at least twice before reaching their destination.

Some of the cities these flights fly via include Washington, Johannesburg, New York, Baltimore and Johannesburg. With each stop you have to switch flights but this is normal for long flights.

South African Airways

Destined for South Africa it leaves Miami at 13.25hrs and makes its first stop in Washington Dulles arriving at around 16.05hrs. After about 90 minutes it takes off this time heading for Johannesburg where it arrives at 15:50 the following day.

It then departs for its final destination Cape Town at about 17.40hrs and arriving at approximately 1950hrs, the whole journey is about 20 hrs long

Delta Airlines

Delta Airlines lives Miami at 06:00 and flies to Baltimore. Having arrived at 10.34hrs it will leave at 11.00hrs going New York. Its scheduled to arrive at 12.10hrs and leave New York at 16.00hrs for Cape town.

Compared to the South African Airways flight this one is longer being 23hrs in total.

British Airways

British Airways will leave Miami heading for London at 20.50hrs and will arrive the next day at 10.05hrs. There is quite a long stretch of waiting here as the new flight that you are switched to only takes off at 17:50 and flies to Johannesburg

You can expect to arrive at 06.35 hrs the following day. You are then switched to another flight i.e. the SA317, which lives Johannesburg at 09:00 and gets to Cape Town at 11:10. The total flight time is about 21 hours – better than using Delta Airlines.

If you are going to be comparing prices then South African Airways comes out as the cheapest. You will be able to access current airfares and ways you can book your travel tickets from one of the these:
