River Tree Lodge

We like this place very much, although it is a long way from Arusha half way between Kilimanjaro airport and Arusha. There are fewer than 10 rooms set in lovely gardens bordering a river and the whole property has a nineteenth century colonial feel. It is still managed by a Swiss lady who inherited the property from her parents. The property is immaculate and there are beautiful, elegant communal rooms with a real feel of a classic African home.

The rooms are very different one from the other but each is furnished with real style and lovely antiques. There is a significant difference between the prices of the standard and luxury rooms. If you can afford the best rooms splash out

We have not eaten here but we understand that the food is excellent. We believe that this is what Africa Style is all about.
