Climbing with us

Our partner is highly experienced in both the Kilimanjaro and the Mount Meru climbs and has been organising climbs on Kili for over a decade. Kilimanjaro needs to be taken seriously and to be enjoyed in safety you need high quality guides, a professional team and proper support.

We have a very high success rate of reaching the summit (over 80%). We use experienced guides with mobile phones to keep in touch with our support team. Our equipment includes three man high altitude mountain tents for two people, foam mattresses, PVC waterproof over bags for client bags and mattresses, but not sleeping bags provided by clients. We provide a decompression chamber with each group. Our chief guide Frank speaks perfect English and French.

It is not all hard slog however. You will be accompanied by our first class chefs who only use fresh ingredients and provide a tasty and balanced diet for your climb. Food is served in a mess tent with proper tables and chairs. If you want to do Kili in style this is the way.

Mount Kilimanjaro

This climb is designed for those who are interested in climbing Africa's highest mountain. It traverses the most spectacular regions of the Kilimanjaro rain forest.

Machame route provides a better adaptation to high altitude by spending more time within the critical hights between 3800 m and 4500 m. At the same time the climber will enjoy the typical Kilimanjaro mountain vegetation (Senecios, Lobelia, Helichrysum) found within these altitudes. Our route traverse the spectacular Baranco Valley offering breathtaking views of the West Breach and the southern glacier.

The ascent to the summit will take you through the gap between Ratzel and Rebmanglacier. While climbing to Uhuru Peak our porters will take all luggage from Barafu hut to Mweka hut. The successful climber will descend the Kibo Crater rim via Barafu Hut, Mweka Hut where the 5 Th. night is spent.

On the last day the trail winds down to the Mweka Wildlife College where our fleet of Toyota 4WD vehicles will be waiting for your departure. Transfer to Arusha in the afternoon.

The cost of the climb is comprehensive with the exception of sleeping bags, any extra meals not in the programme, drinks, energy foods and drinks during climb, lunch on the last day in Arusha, other personal items and tips.

Mount Meru
Mt. Meru, Tanzania's second highest mountain (4566m) is a real challenge for those who would like to climb this extinct tropical volcano. The mountain also offers some of the most beautiful indigenous montane forest to be found in East Africa.
While trekking to the summit, buffalo, elephant, bushbuck and rare black and white colobus monkeys are commonly viewed en route. You might have the opportunity to see Mt Kilimanjaro to the east in the morning and evening. Kilimanjaro exposes its spectacular snow covered peak above the sea of clouds.
Reaching the Meru Crater with its steep terrain you are given views of the old ashcone and its almost vertical crater walls. one advantage of climbing Mt Meru compared with neighbouring Mt. Kilimanjaro is there are always far less tourists. You should enjoy much more of its peaceful forest atmosphere while sometimes being the only one aiming for its occasionally snow covered summit.
Mt. Meru is safe to climb for all who are in good physical condition. No technical climbing gear or special alpine knowledge is required. Good walking or hiking shoes are necessary for all climbers.
An armed ranger from the Arusha National Park will escort our team for your security.
