The Serena safari lodge is rather large with 70 rooms and a little kitsch in style with bright swirling patterns all over the place but the position is truly amazing and the overall appearance not unattractive.
The circular, closely-thatched rooms use the traditional Maasai "Boma" style of construction whilst featuring a vibrant interior design concept with brilliant scarlet-and-indigo checked "'Shukas" (cloaks) and bright yellow, white, blue and orange beadwork. Each room has a private veranda and breathtaking views.
There is a circular dining area and a spectacular pool bar and pool overlooking the valley.
