You have to use a guide and a registered safari vehicle to enter the parks in Northern Tanzania.

Hiring a self-drive vehicle is not an option.

We prefer to use only 4x4 vehicles rather than mini-buses which are becoming increasingly frequent but do not offer the same viewing and above all cannot take you off the beaten track. Four wheel drive vehicles do add slightly to the cost but they guarantee a better quality safari.
