Serengeti Safari lodge in the south of Serengeti National Park close to Lake Ndutu.
Ndutu Lodge is a former hunting lodge set close to the Lake in a natural pleasant if not outstanding location. It is the oldest of the lodges in the park.
It is not small with some thirty bungalow rooms that spread out from the central restaurant. It has been restored and has become much improved although it is still relatively simple.
The whole place has a family atmosphere that only a privately run safari Lodge can have. It is not luxurious but the Stone structure with thatched roof is charming and the friendly owners and staff make guests feel very welcome. It is not expensive and offers good value for money and it is the sort of lodge that we enjoy.
It has to be said however that there are periods of the year when there is very little wildlife in the area and it is best to go in the months of January, February and March which is also when the lodge tends to get quite full. So be warned and book ahead!
