Tarangire Safari Lodge, Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire Safari Lodge was the first lodge in the park and is an African safari classic.
It is the only safari lodge in the North of the park and has a spectacular site in a bowl overlooking the plain and the river below.
The terrace is a great place to enjoy a drink and watch the animals that every time we have passed through have been abundant.
It is a reasonably small lodge with only 30 tented rooms and a few triple bungalows. Though it shows its age it has a nice worn-in feeling.
The service varies, the food is average and the Lodge is not very luxurious but the accommodation (well-appointed tents) with solar heated water are comfortable if a little close together for privacy.
There is an attractive swimming pool. In general this is a pleasant, relaxed safari holiday lodge which offers good value for money in a great location.
