When to go - The seasons and climate

Because many of the Parks are relatively unexplored and vegetation tends to be thicker than in the North due to higher rainfall and more rivers, the best time for your safari in Southern Tanzania in our view is during the dry season from end of May to end of October. There is normally a recess between the short rains of November and the long rains which can start as early as March and finish as late as June. There is no golden rule and we have experienced marvellous safaris in February and March when the vegetation is lush, and the birdlife rich.

How to go - Vehicles

A 4 wheel drive will meet you on your arrival at the park and your safari outings will be organised directly by the Lodge where you stay.
