Dar Es Salaam

Dar Es Salaam is a large bustling city on the Indian Ocean. It is not particularly interesting nor very beautiful but it is set on an attractive part of the coast and there are several beautiful beaches within a little over an hour's drive from town.

Depending on your arrival or departure time, you may need to spend a night in town to connect with your safari. Whilst we normally avoid large Hotel chains, for this purpose we have chosen the Holiday-Inn, a modern and comfortable hotel, which grants Africa-Style customers a preferential rate. The Holiday Inn is situated less than 20 minutes from the airport and close to the golf course in the quiet area favoured by the Banks and the Embassies. The Hotel has all the comforts one would expect: room service, restaurants, swimming pool, air conditioning, satellite TV in all the rooms (smoking or non-smoking room option) etc...
